Job duties: Taking special orders for customer’s custom cake requests, taking order for customer’s bakery orders, base frosting cakes, decorating cupcakes and learning to use air brushing machine and helping bakery department with packaging of special orders and Grandma Bettie Jane’s Pie’s. The ability to interpret what the customers vision for the custom cake is very important. Paying close attention to details on the order form and demonstrating creativity is also essential. We will be using layon’s as well as edible images to decorate our cakes as well as creating images or themes by free hand. As a cake decorator you should be knowledgeable to the latest styles, techniques and trends in cake decoration. Cake decorator will also be responsible for designing and decorating stock cakes for our grab and go case. The cake decorator will also assist with maintaining inventory or supplies used to decorate cakes. We must keep the work area clean and sanitary. The ability to interact and behave professionally with our customers is required. We put a lot of emphasis on customer service and knowledge of the department’s products on this job opportunity.
